What is the sports premium?
The Primary school PE Premium is a grant provided for schools to spend on improving the quality of PE and sport for all their children. This funding is expected to continue until at least 2020. This funding can only be spent on PE and sport provision in schools.
Using the PE Funding in 2020/2021.
During the corona virus pandemic we have endeavoured to keep our pupils as active as we possibly can. We fully recognise how important this is for them in both supporting their physical health and also their mental wellbeing. Our plans are constantly being revised in the light of the new National Lockdown. The document below outlines our plans and intentions for the use of the PE funding over the rest of the year. these will remain under review as the situation changes.
Using the PE Funding in 2019/20
The report below show how we used the funding in the preceding academic year and the impact that it had. The highlights included participation in inter school sport, a greater emphasis on intra school competitions and new after school clubs. Parents and local clubs have continued to be involved in both the provision and celebration of sport. We were very pleased to achieve the Silver Games Mark award. We continued to offer swimming lessons to all pupils in Key Stage 2 and some Pupils in Key Stage 1 up to the closure of our local swimming pool at the start of the first National Lockdown (March 2020).
