All religions try to benefit people, with the same basic message of the need for love and compassion, for justice and honesty, for contentment.
At Earl Soham school we believe that it is important for all children to have an understanding of the different religious faiths that are celebrated around the globe. Children are taught the ways in which religion is so important to people , and how those people express their faith. The focus in our RE lessons is to provide our pupils with the knowledge of the belief systems of each religion, how these beliefs are practised in every day life and, the rituals and ceremonies that are important to the followers of that faith. Children re encouraged to identify similarities and differences across the faiths that we study and to ask questions and draw conclusions based on what they have learned.
We use the wider British values of tolerance and respect for others to investigate how our learning can be see in every day life and draw links where necessary with learning in other subjects especiially RSHE, English and history.
