Online Safeguarding and Safeguarding

E-Safety

Pupils at Earl Soham School are taught to use the internet safely using materials available from www.thinkuknow.co.uk

They sign an acceptable use agreement upon entry to the school and this is kept in their school file. Children are taught the SMART rules for staying safe online.

Getting Help and Advice

You can contact a member of staff about e-safety or cyberbullying issues via email at the addresses below:

Mrs Jen Carlyle headteacher@earlsoham.suffolk.sch.uk

Reporting Abuse

The NCA's CEOP Command is here to help children and young people. We are here to help if you are a young person and you or your friend (up to age 18) has been forced or tricked into taking part in sexual activity with anyone online, or in the real world. We also have advice and links to support for other online problems young people might face, such as cyberbullying and hacking. Visit our Safety Centre for advice and to report directly to CEOP, by clicking on the Click CEOP button.

We have a statutory duty to report any incidents where we have cause to suspect that a pupil is suffering or is likely to suffer harm. The Designated Safeguard Lead for Child Protection and Safeguarding is Mrs Jen Carlyle, who is also the lead for Prevent Strategy. In the event of her absence, it is Miss Fielder.

IF YOU HAVE ANY CONCERNS please contact Mrs Jen Carlyle immediately, school telephone number: 01728 685359.
